The demo reminds us that cool effects in a web browser don’t have to rely on Flash, or its Microsoft opponent silverlight, if you know how to exploit the potential of hardware-acceleration provided by WebKit, a joint venture of Apple, Google and a few other companies, aiming at standardizing the next generation web browsers. WebKit has long been used in Safari, including Safari on iPhone.
